Pediatric Occupational Therapy is a discipline that aims to promote health by enabling children to perform meaningful and purposeful activities, especially communication, fine motor skills, and appropriate levels of self-care. Â We work with children who are grappling with a mentally, physically, developmentally, and/or emotionally disabling condition by utilizing treatments that develop, recover, or maintain their activities of daily living. Our therapists helps clients not only to improve their basic motor functions and reasoning abilities, but also to compensate for permanent loss of function. The ultimate goal of occupational therapy is to help clients have independent, productive, and satisfying lives.

Janey Macey and Associates is also proud to offer iLs (Integrated Listening System). Â iLs combines listening (usually to classical music) and movement for up to ninety minutes, which achieves remarkable results in children with attention issues, autism, and other developmental delays. Â Occupational therapist Erin Owens here at JM&A is the only certified therapist to offer iLs in Louisiana.
